Coward's cloak

Coward's cloak

Rare
Boost Movement Speed upon taking damage. Also gains +5% Movement Speed.
Scaling Type:
Linear scaling (additive) for permanent movement speed (+5% per copy), max temporary stacks (+2 per copy), and duration (+0.5s per copy) Fixed +30% movement speed per temporary stack

Detailed Explanation

Coward’s Cloak provides two effects when you take damage:

1. Permanent Movement Speed
Picking up the item gives a permanent +5% Movement Speed.

2. Temporary Movement Speed (On Damage Taken)
Whenever you take damage (non-shield), you gain a temporary Movement Speed stack.

One copy of Coward’s Cloak provides:
- Max Stacks: 2
- Stack Value: +30% Movement Speed per stack
- Duration: 3.5 seconds (resets when refreshed)

Taking damage again adds another stack (up to the max) and refreshes the timer.
If you're already at max stacks, no additional stacks are gained, but the duration is refreshed, allowing the buff to persist indefinitely as long as you keep taking damage.

How it Stacks

This stacks linearly.
1 Cloak → up to +60% temporary speed
2 Cloaks → up to +120% temporary speed
3 Cloaks → up to +180% temporary speed

For each cloak it requires 2 more stacks to reach the max temporary speed bonus, (So for 1 cloak it requires 2 hits within 3.5 seconds. For 2 cloaks it requires 4 hits within 3.5 second)

Explained here:

Let n = number of Coward’s Cloaks.

1. Permanent Movement Speed

$$PermanentSpeed(n) = 0.05 \times n$$

2. Maximum Temporary Stacks

$$MaxStacks(n) = 2 \times n$$

Each temporary stack still gives +30% Movement Speed.

TemporarySpeed(s) = 0.30 × s
(where 0 ≤ s ≤ MaxStacks)

Duration of Temporary Buff

Duration(n) = 3 + (0.5 × n)

The duration timer resets each time you take damage.

Total Movement Speed (Full Stacks)

$$ \text{TotalSpeed}(n) = 1 + 0.05n + 0.30 \cdot (2n) $$

Example for n = 2:
- Permanent: +10%
- Max temporary stacks: 4 → +120%
Total = +130% Movement Speed
